It’s easy to sometimes take for granted the breath we take and to just exist, it would be a good thing to just take a step back and appreciate the goodness that is all around despite the darkness and uncertainty that surrounds us. To be content, is truly to understand joy.
Hebrews 13:5 sums this up so well:
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
The fact that you have someone that cares deeply enough for you to lay down His life and to put an end to sin is the biggest gift of all. Take a moment and ponder on this and contrast this with all that we strive for and seem to be pining after seems to fade away very quickly. Often times we even seem to be overcome with the worries and anxieties of this life and fear that all we have lived and worked for seems so temporal.
Things have been happening in the world that would suggest we are reaching a point of chaos of sorts, but hang in there, our hope still remains sure and steadfast. We will never be forsaken. We are forever treasured.
All of creation is yearning for the sons of God to be glorified. Oh what a happy day that will be when it all happens, where sorrow is given up in joy and pain for that of rest. We shall rule with the King and are in fact co-heirs to rule over all things on the new heaven and new earth.
There is truly enough trouble for today to be concerned with, adding more worry by thinking about future possible events is going to make it so much harder! Stay strong in knowing that our victory is done and all things will be put under His feet.
Invest time into your families and loved ones, if you haven’t been doing that, now would be a great time. If there are conflicts, get down to reconciliation, when all else fails, there is always a listening ear in Jesus and a strong strong shoulder to lean on. Be blessed!
